Task Description:

Upon arrival, the site was in a state of chaos; there were many workers performing various tasks, and there wasn’t even enough space to set up another ladder—a detail worth mentioning, as everything required a great deal of waiting and patience.

The 3-meter ladder I brought proved insufficient, as the ceiling height was nearly 4 meters. Since three devices (a black box, an internal sensor, and an external sensor) needed to be installed at each end of the store, I checked the back area, but it was just as crowded—there was barely any room to move.

In the meantime, I checked in with the remote technicians, unpacked the devices, and took photographs of the store and the equipment to ensure the corresponding IP addresses were documented.

I began preparing the wiring for the boxes while waiting for a taller ladder to become available so I could carry out the work.

Once I was finally able to start, I ran into trouble identifying the specific cable prepared for this installation; I had to wait for the electrician to help me identify the wiring on each side.

After the wiring was identified, I installed the cables and the black box. I mounted the internal sensor as close as possible to both the exit and the access hatch, prepared the UTP cable for the external sensor, and connected it to the black box. I then repeated the entire process at the back of the store. Once that was finished, we flipped the circuit breakers to test the system and reported the status to the remote technicians for confirmation.

Next, I proceeded to install the external sensors, starting at the front of the store (handling the wiring and wall mounting). Afterward, I moved to the back to install the sensor near a display window, though I had to wait again because construction work was underway in that area.

As soon as I finished installing the external sensor at the back, I could see that the counting function was working, but I still notified the remote technicians to confirm. The external front sensor wasn’t registering any counts because there was a vinyl film on the glass blocking the view of the street; I had to cut and remove a section of it so that it would start counting.

The entire system’s functionality was verified by a remote technician, so I informed the client that I was packing up and heading out—but…

When I went to have the client sign off—around 6:30 PM—they decided to inspect the installation. They asked me to trim the cables for the external sensors, claiming they were too long, and to straighten the internal front sensor. That ended up taking some extra time. Afterward, they signed the work order, and I packed up and left.

Contract Company: MIRAME

Subcontract Company: ITBASE

Ticket Number: IB-18964

Task Description:

I began the installation, but there was no easily accessible way to install the switch or complete the electrical wiring. I had to remove the emergency light fixture; however, it was not a standard type—it only had a small slot for wiring. Since there was no other viable option, I had to open up the ceiling to create enough space for the switch, and I routed the electrical wiring for the switch through that same opening.

I installed the switch and the new camera. When I went to disconnect the old camera from the switch, I discovered that its cable—while very long—was pulled so taut that it was impossible to work on. I had to cut the cable, remove the previously installed camera, and re-terminate both ends—the RJ45 connector for the cable coming from the router and the RJ45 connector for the camera’s own cable—so they could be connected to the switch, ensuring internet access and connectivity for both cameras. Afterward, I connected my PC so the remote technician could program the cameras. Once programmed, we configured the camera redirects. When everything was complete, I removed a photocell from the display case, cleaned up the workspace, gathered all the equipment, obtained the client’s signature, and left the premises—all in accordance with what the remote technician and I had discussed.

Everything is now working properly.

Ticket Number: IB-19405

Task Description:

This time, the job involved a new installation of three devices—replacing the entire setup, including the core unit and two sensor cameras. I began by removing the old unit and all the wiring, which appeared quite worn. I started by connecting the new unit to the emergency lighting circuit; following instructions from the remote technician and the work order to replace the cables, I installed the black control unit using two new 1-meter Cat 6 UTP patch cables. Once the devices were detected remotely, I mounted them to the ceiling. After finishing the mounting, I secured the cables, attached the housings, and ran tests on all three sensors. Once I had finished and the technician confirmed everything was in order, I left the store.

Job DescriptionThe AP (S/N CNNSKPP45) was located under a table; it failed during initial testing—specifically, it was unresponsive. I intended to swap it out, but the replacement unit also failed to show any indicator lights. I then proceeded to replace the cable and tested the AP that was already in the office; as soon as I swapped the UTP cable, it began working again. Consequently, the original office AP was kept in place, now fully operational. Tests were conducted and photos were taken; I am attaching them to this form.

Task DescriptionIt took me a long time to find the shop because the address listed was incorrect; I called the person in charge several times using the number provided here, but got no answer.
Once I finally found the shop and the unit, I tried swapping the router inside the box, but it wasn’t possible because the connector was different. Since nothing else could be done, I reconnected the old unit and realized the problem was the power connector—it was defective; if you moved the cable even slightly, it would «disconnect.» I secured it with a cable tie, fastening it to another cable to hold it steady. That worked—the remote technician detected it and it was operational—but the system no longer detected the indoor sensor.
I recommended replacing the old unit with a new one, but they said they weren’t authorized to do so.
We agreed that the router needs to be replaced, as the new one they had sent was completely different—it lacked both antennas and a power cable.

Job DescriptionI arrived at the location and waited for someone to show up, but no one did. I then contacted the Madrid office; at first, they gave me the wrong number. I called again, and they told me to wait while they looked for a contact. Finally, at 8:59, I received a call from someone at Kyndryl who knew practically as little as I did and also started looking into it. Eventually, Javier Portela from Servinport provided me with a contact: Fran, the electrician in charge of the site (since the building was undergoing renovations). He said no one had notified him and he knew nothing about it; furthermore, they weren’t going to be there because the office was located within an exhibition center where a trade show was starting at 10:00. I then waited until I received confirmation that I could leave the premises.
